Warehouse Team Lead (3rd Shift)

Department: FRIENDLY FRUIT
Location: New Bedford, MA

Summary/Objective  
The Warehouse Team Lead assists the Supervisor with all daily operations of the specialties department. The person in this position has the ability to lead the department when the Manager is not present.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists Warehouse Supervisor with daily operations.
  • Supervises all team members, ensuring production goals are met.
  • Assists with training new hires within the department.
  • Serves as a mentor for all associates; models and demonstrates company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the timely, accurate completion of all daily, nightly and weekly paperwork & reporting.
  • Assumes supervisor’s roles and responsibilities during any absences.
  • Ensures all orders are picked and packed on time and in accurate departure order.
  • Coordinates breaks and lunch periods in a logical, efficient manner.
  • Identifies areas of opportunity, resolves any issues that arise.
  • Documents daily employee hours and duties, noting anything that may affect productivity.
  • Works with Quality Assurance Team to ensure specific Good Manufacturing Practices are being followed.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the department/warehouse.

Required, Education and Experience:

Education

  • High school diploma /G.E.D., or equivalent experience required.

Experience

  • 1+ year experience in warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Food industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach; climb and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to work in tight and/or dim places, and be comfortable with heights.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills: 
Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. 

Work Environment
Perishable warehouse can range from 28° to 60° Fahrenheit.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Sunday, 8 hours scheduled on 3rd shift with mandatory overtime as needed.\
